He’s a Big City Mayor; His Grandsons Are Suspected Gang Members—The New Republic

Our case against Cleveland mayor Frank Jackson and police chief Calvin Williams over the botched investigation of Antonio Parra’s murder (by two men who drove away in a car registered to the mayor’s grandson) continues to make national news, most recently in this excellent longform report by Jordan Heller in The New Republic.

This is by far the most detailed report on the case to date. Journalists nationwide, including Pulitzer prize-winner Wesley Lowery of CBS News/60 Minutes, have been sharing this piece on Twitter since it was published, many of whom have understandably expressed shock at what’s happened here.

The Parra family remains grateful for the public’s interest in Antonio’s story, which continues to develop as we learn more about what happened.
